For Gluten-Free Bagels

  • 2 teaspoons gluten-free baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg white whisked until frothy
  • Everything bagel seasoning optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium-size bowl, combine the flour with the baking powder and salt.
  • Add the yogurt and mix the dough using a fork, hands, or a rubber spatula until the dough is wet but slightly crumbly.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it into a smooth ball.
  • Separate the dough into 4 equal pieces.

Shaping

  • Roll each piece of dough into a 5-6 inch long, 3/4 inch wide log and form it into a circle, pinching the ends together.
  • In a small bowl, combine the egg yolk with some water and brush the mixture on top and middle of each bagel.
  • Leave them plain or add your desired toppings.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F and spray the basket with olive oil spray.
  • Place the formed bagels in a single layer in the air fryer, about 2 inches apart.
  • Cook for about 10 minutes until golden brown, checking at around 8-9 minutes to ensure they don’t get too brown.
  • Remove the bagels and let them cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For unique flavors, consider mixing in garlic powder or adding shredded cheese to the dough. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week. To freeze, wrap tightly in plastic and place in a freezer bag.
