  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice Bottled lemon juice is a convenient alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest For additional lemon flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Gently season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the grated Parmesan cheese on a large plate. Carefully coat each chicken breast in the cheese, ensuring an even layer.

Cooking

  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup of butter until bubbly.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the lemon juice and add the lemon zest to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  • Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the skillet. Cook each side until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Once browned, transfer the chicken breasts to the preheated oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  • While the chicken is baking, continue simmering the butter and garlic mixture for the lemon butter sauce.
  • Once the chicken is done, drizzle it with the garlic lemon butter sauce, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

Do not overcook the chicken; it should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in lemon juice and garlic for 30-60 minutes before cooking.
