Bread Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure butter is slightly cooled.
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples Choose firm varieties like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

Mixing

  • In another bowl, whisk the melted butter, milk, and eggs. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples and vanilla extract.

Baking

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon sugar if desired. Add the remaining batter on top.
  • Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Glazing and Serving

  • For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk. Drizzle over the bread after it cools.
