  • 1 wheel (12 oz) wheel of French Brie
  • 4 sheets thawed sheets of phyllo dough Ensure fully thawed before use.
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted For brushing between phyllo layers.
  • 1/3 cup favorite preserves Choose your favorite flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Optional, for added sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped nuts Optional, can use preferred nuts.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • On a clean surface, lay out one sheet of phyllo dough. Brush it with melted butter.
  • Place a second sheet of phyllo on top and brush it with butter as well. Repeat this process with the remaining sheets, stacking them on top of each other.
  • Place the wheel of Brie in the center of the phyllo stack.
  • Spread the preserves on top of the Brie. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with nuts if using.
  • Gather the edges of the phyllo dough around the Brie and twist to seal it.
  • Brush the outside of the wrapped Brie with more melted butter.
  • Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the phyllo is golden brown and crispy.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes. Feel free to experiment with different toppings, like fruit preserves or savory options like caramelized onions.
