  • a pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar Can replace with brown sugar or honey.
  • 1 large egg, beaten Can substitute with flaxseed meal for vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Whole wheat flour can be used as a healthier alternative.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas and stir in the melted butter until combined.
  • Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt, ensuring even distribution.
  • Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to avoid a dense texture.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 4x8 inch loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Baking

  • Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 60-65 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips into the batter before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days, in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
