Ingredients
  

Cake Pop Base

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix Use your favorite brand
  • 1/3 cup French vanilla frosting Additional frosting may be needed for desired consistency

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 oz light pink candy melts Melted for coating
  • to taste white sprinkles For decoration

Preparation

  • Prepare the cake according to package directions, mixing cake mix, water, oil, and eggs.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish or two 8x8-inch cake dishes. Bake at 350°F until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely, then crumble it in a large bowl.
  • Stir in the frosting until the cake crumbs are well mixed. Cover and freeze until chilled.

Forming Cake Pops

  • Roll the chilled mixture into evenly sized balls and freeze until hard.
  • Once frozen, smooth the sides of the cake balls and place them on a baking sheet.

Coating

  • Melt the candy melts in the microwave or double boiler.
  • Dip one end of each lollipop stick into the melted chocolate, then insert it into each cake pop ball.
  • Freeze the pops again until the chocolate is solidified.
  • Dip each cake pop ball into the melted candy melts or spoon chocolate to coat them. Optionally, decorate with sprinkles.

Serving

  • Place finished cake pops upright in a styrofoam block or a box to harden.

Notes

Ensure the cake is completely cooled before crumbling for best results. Allow the mixture to chill well for easier shaping. You can use various cake mixes and frosting flavors for different cake pops.
