Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened Ensure it's at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Mix in slowly for a fluffier texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup orange zest
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Can be substituted if there are nut allergies.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually blend in the dry mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the cranberries, orange zest, and nuts (if using).

Baking

  • Drop teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Space them out adequately.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on wire racks.

Notes

To maintain the chewy texture, allow cookies to cool properly. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
