  • 1 lb Chicken thighs Skinless and boneless preferred
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon
  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce Use low-sodium if preferred
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Grated or minced
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar Adjust to taste for sweetness

For serving

  • 2 stalks Green onions Chopped for garnish
  • to taste Black pepper Freshly ground for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a slow cooker, combine bourbon, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar.
  • Add the chicken thighs, making sure they are well coated with the sauce.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken and stir to combine with the sauce.

Serving

  • Serve garnished with chopped green onions and black pepper.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken thighs in the bourbon sauce for a few hours before cooking. You can add vegetables like bell peppers or carrots to the slow cooker for added nutrition and color.
