Ingredients
  

Pasta and Vegetables

  • 8 oz pasta of choice Whole wheat or gluten-free options work great.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets

Aromatics

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with avocado oil or butter.
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional for an extra kick.

Seasoning and Topping

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese For serving; nutritional yeast can be used for a vegan option.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions.
  • In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot with the pasta.
  • Once cooked, drain the pasta and broccoli together, and return them to the pot.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet, tossing everything together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve warm, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the broccoli to maintain its color and crunch. Reserve some pasta water for a creamier texture if desired.
