Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir until well combined.
  • Crack the eggs into the bowl one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix until everything is combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For a minty twist, add peppermint extract; for a lighter option, substitute coconut sugar for regular sugar.
