Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Plus more for kneading
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • Additional melted butter for brushing

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, brown sugar, yeast, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  • In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, warm milk, melted butter, and egg until mixed well.
  • Gradually add the wet mix to the dry mix until a soft dough forms, then add the remaining flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until the dough is soft but not sticky.

Kneading

  • Put the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until it becomes smooth.
  • Place it in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Shaping

  • Punch down the risen dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Divide it into 12 pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
  • Place the balls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  • Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes, or until they double in size.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
  • Brush with additional melted butter for a nice finish.

Serving

  • Let the rolls cool a bit before serving. Enjoy your Pumpkin Dinner Rolls warm with butter or as a side to your favorite fall dishes.
