Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients.
  • Chop the onion finely and mince the garlic.

Cooking

  • In a medium saucepan, mix together the tomato sauce, chopped onion, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, and vinegar.
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally to avoid sticking.
  • Let it simmer for about 10 minutes to incorporate flavors and thicken the sauce.

Adjusting Flavor

  • Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings as needed, adding more chili powder for heat or sugar for sweetness.

Notes

Store in airtight containers or mason jars. Refrigerate for up to two weeks. This sauce can also be frozen for up to three months.
